Give back to your profession!
Interested in serving MPMS? The MPMS Nominating Committee is now seeking members who are
in being considered as a candidate for the 2018-2019 Massachusetts
Podiatric Medical Society (MPMS) Board of Trustees or as one of our Representatives to the APMA House of Delegates.
We also welcome involvement on our committees!
There are many benefits of serving as a volunteer leader, including:
Playing a significant role in advancing the profession of Podiatry;
- Having an opportunity to enhance the value of MPMS and the Podiatry profession to the medical community;
- Accessing up-to-date information about the challenges facing the profession; and
- Exchanging ideas and perspectives with a diverse group of volunteer leaders.
MPMS values and seeks diverse leadership. It seeks leaders from all
types and sizes of podiatry practices. Candidates should possess
positive leadership attributes, emotional intelligence, ability to work
collaboratively and engage in appropriate debate and discussion when
needed, and visionary and strategic drive.
APMA House of Delegate Representatives are elected for three year terms and need to be able to attend the 2019, 2020 and 2021 APMA House of Delegates Meetings in mid-March in Washington DC. Your expenses will be covered by MPMS. The House of Delegates is the legislative and governing body of APMA and is composed of certified delegates and alternates from each component society.
Board Candidates must be able to
make a commitment to participate in 6 board meetings a year. At
present, the board meets over dinner on Wednesday evenings in Westford,
MA but has begun to move several meetings a year to video conference. We may also explore other locations that work best for the board as a whole.
For more information contact MPMS's Executive Director, Pam McKenna, CAE in the MPMS office 978-256-0935. To
